Your 2nd foreign language, please 11 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Okay, probably this is not the proper forum for this kind of thread, but I'll do it right here anyway.
When we had to decide in grade six on what second foreign language we're gonna start learning in grade seven (today it already starts in grad six?), I wasn't able to realize what a big chance this will be, to learn a language for free (though our teachers are not the best ones). Language courses and training are quite and expensive thing ... yep, around 700 euros for some month of training.
So this was the reason I didn't study my chosen language in a very avid way.
But this has nothing to do with my actual survey question. Which language should be offered at your school? Which one would you like to learn besides of French, Russian, Czech and English?
In my case it's Spanish, or, more than Spanisch, Italian. It's too bad we had no teachers for these languages - but and in my opinion this was not fair at all. Taking a look on other high schools I realized, we just had some middle class language teachers, almost none who really had an affection towards the language and imparting it to the students. And we also had no real choice of languages to select from.
So tell me your opinion ... which languages are you expecting to learn in future and what should be offered in class?

yeah, i think that's a real problem to discuss !!!!
my sister is now in class 5 and they had to choose vtheir secondforeign language yesterday..... we had a lot of discussions..which would u need the most , which is hard to learn.....at the end she took Czech, because we're so near the border to Czech Republic......But it realy isn't the most great sounding language! and Russian you don't need to chose, 'cause there were never enough pupil who wanted to learn this!! And learning French, just because french people don't like English???????? No, thanks! i also would have choosen spanish or maybe Italian, if i'd had have the chance!!!!!!!!!!!!!
....or maybe turkish geetings to all turkish friends which maybe will read this!!!!!!!!!!!! arkadasimsiniz!!!!!!!!

Yep, I remember such a discussion when my brother had to make a decision on which third language he's gonna learn in the years coming up. And, excuse me, but is there really a need to learn Czech?? The Czech Republic is a country with about 10 Million inhabitants and they are the only ones who speak this language.
Who of the kids studying Czech right here will stay here forever? Just a few will get the chance. And only a little little percentage of these students will be able to really use the language.
So tell me, when does anybody of the decision.makers up there in the political laboratories start to think?
Maybe it is a special possibility - but there MUST be alternatives besides French.

Is it indeed as hard as it seems like? Remembering my russian classes, learning a new alphabet is an easy thing - but probably there's a little difference between an alphabet and Chinese characters.

well, the "alright" is quite ambiguous ... what might the author wanna say?
anywho, learning the new alphabet for Arab was quite simple ... characters appear to be much more difficult since not even the Chinese themselves know all of them ... how could they.
