We try to pick out the rare fantastic websites - every week a new website put on show. This week: How to experience storms without being blown to the Land of Oz.
Striking.
W
hile Dorothy in Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz pretty much stumbled into an amazing adventure when a tornado hit her house and carried her into the Land of Oz, the real world does not often give us the opportunity to partake in such impressive spectacles.

Silver Lining Tours (SLT) now provides the chance of a lifetime - well, an American lifetime so to speak. Organized like an office of tourism, SLT offers guided tours to hunt down storm structures, chase tornadoes and attend massive natural lighting shows. Whereas the trips are limited to the US and the price for such a safari is extraordinarily high for a student's budget (600 US-dollars for a ten day guided treck), the website presents flabbergasting pictures of past tours as well as additional and educational information on how storms arise.
A ginormous cell is about to bring up a storm.
Apart from advertising for their business, the webmasters also created a forum where past and upcoming thunderstorms can be discussed. However, the most impressive part of the website is the extended photo gallery which journalizes all the past tours until back to the year 2000. Exactly this is how you can experience all the storms you ever dreamed of - let's just hope it weren't all nightmares. In case it were all nightmares, remember to follow the road paved with yellow bricks and if worse comes to worst just clap your heels together and leave the website.
Of course, our thoughts and prayers are with those whose families and belongings were damaged recently by a series of tornadoes in Arkansas and other states of the USA as well as elsewhere in the world.
