We try to pick out the rare fantastic websites - every week a new website put on show. This week: How to beat Van Gogh and Da Vinci with Art 2.0.

ven though your last name does not consist of two parts and you're probably not even anywhere close to being interested in the Old nor New Masters, you can still come up with some pretty arty drawings. Enlarge them, print them, frame them ... there you go - presents for auntie's next birthday or any other upcoming festivity (Mother's Day, Father's Day etc.) in stock. No need for real talentObviously, pessimist could argue like: "Dude, I can't even draw a stick figure." Well, although this hardly being an argument for itself, I don't even doubt that you might be right. Possibly, your gouty fingers haven't touched a pen in months, not to mention a paint-box or a brush. This is the fate of our generation. However, there are new opportunities out there. The Internet offers a vast variety of creative activities. Web developers are the new New Master it seems. The creators of BOMOMO for example came up with a quite interesting painting tool. Boring? Not at all! There are twenty different tools to choose from. Each of them has a unique habit of its own. Some work with a physics engine, others follow you mouse in a specific scheme while the last group just does whatever it wants (that's what it looks like at least) and paints whenever you click.
All the 20 tools in one pic.
Unfortunately, this application works within Firefox (and probably Safari) only at the moment but who uses IE anyway? Just in case there are still some old fashioned Explorer users out there ("b/c it is much prettier and I'm so used to be working with it"), the developers are already at it and working to transfer it to an IE-compatible version.
Apart from the drawing thingy, there is not much else on the page. There is hardly any information on the authors nor any copyright. The latter is good since you can use the pics you created wherever you want without being sued for copycat issues. The earlier, however, leaves us completely alone in case we wanted to write anything about the brilliant minds behind this project. Well, I guess we could still contact them via the given mail address but whatevs. Become active
My masterpiece!
Now it's your turn. Draw surreal forms, use the physics and take advantage of the various tools. In short, become the next Dali, as his surname didn't have two parts either, he still drew some impressive pieces. He convinced with highly artistic new styles. It's up to you to either follow his example or come up with something completely new. Even if your works don't reach world fame, they will still be a nice surprise for the next bday boy/girl.
