Captured in a blizzard our dear whuffle was isolated from the rest of the world. Thank God she had a blankie to hide under and some good book to read.
H
ello fellas.
The new year came and so did the really cold time of the year. Snowfall, blizzards and ice were daily experiences. Since it's very common to get freezing shitty weather in Ohio we were allowed to close the school for five days and if we used more, we had to make school up. Let me explain how that works. You're soundly asleep, happy and warm. Then the phone rings, which you just ignore but a few moments later, your mom or dad (or in my case host mom) comes into your dark room and whispers quietly, that you either got a two hour delay or the whole day off.
Now there's only the Sex'n'Crime part missing.
In case number one you get up at 8.25 instead of 6.25; number two you just lie in bed till 1 pm, then you get up, just to bring some chocolate and cereal in your room and then you continue your "busy" day in bed. The perfect book is full of violence, sex and penguinsSurprisingly I didn't enjoy these days as much as I thought I would. I had to stay at home all day, couldn't get out, the TV didn't show good stuff anyway. There wasn't a lot left to do. So I concentrated on reading English books, thinking English and writing English. I got pretty good at reading since we had to know a bunch of books for our English class. The first quarter of the year I'd already read five books just for this one class. Quickly, I found my favorite lecture - blood, murder, mystery. And maybe a little bit of sex. And penguins!
That's how the perfect book looks like, full of violence, sex and penguins. Still haven't read anything that connects all three of these topics. My first book I read here, was "Harry Potter and the Hollows of Death", the last of the series. It impressed me and I understood it surprisingly well. Even though I didn't agree with the very ending of the story, the main part was deeply interesting and well written.
Let's just hope this isn't Magi's place.
Back to our missed days. We missed not only five but seven day, so we gonna finish school two days later, on June 10. I am really excited to go back. I really am. Before I fly back, my natural parents and I will cruise the USA a little.
Sorry for this being a short article only, hope to see ya all next week.
Magi is 17 years old and lives in Bradford in the US state of Ohio since summer last year (yes, this high school exchange student thing). On WOOLING.NET she tells you about the daily routine over there. Have a look on what she already published.
