Pumpkin here, pumpkin there, pumpkin, pumpkin everywhere - the best American pumpkin "diet" ever!
H
ello, this is Magi! I'm going just right back to the story as I'm not the introduction-writing type anyways!
As I already said Bradford seems to have no activities at all. And that's almost true, too. However, in October something actually happened, something called "The Pumpkin Show". That's right - we are celebrating and praising a vegetable. The festival proceeds over an entire week, full of pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin pie, pumpkin filled pumpkins, a parade and confetti. Before the week started we filled the confetti in little brown bags to sell them later for a dollar each.
Never seen so much confetti!
Believe me; I've never seen more confetti in my life! The streets were covered and so were you. While you covered your head, somebody else would throw that nasty stuff directly in your mouth and ears. If you bought food you had to gulp it down before the next guys would attack you. Yep, we had a lot of fun! We also got rides and games, where you could win a gecko or a bunny. I wanted a gecko so badly, but didn't get one. Joining the Marching Band - not the smartest decision to makeAs I already told you I joined the Marching Band. Not the smartest decision to make, but anyway, I couldn't just quit, could I? Our "awesome" band director made us march in the parade every day, so we never saw the whole parade ourselves. After the parade everyone of the team hurried back to school to change clothes (because we wore our band uniforms), just to head back in time to the Pumpkin Show. There we spent our evenings with friends and food. How great is that! Since it was pretty cold we had to get Pumpkin spiced hot chocolate. Very very tasty!
Pissed confetti.
Unfortunately, it ended pretty quickly and the everyday life got us back. A note to the German youth: During all this time full of fun and laughter, there wasn't any alcohol or cigarette involved - none at all. Can you imaging having fun without drinking?
Next week I'll tell you about my homecoming dance. Be excited! Photos: Photocase - emma75, Magdalena Scheibner (2)
